TIPCHECK – which stands for Technical Insulation Performance CHECK – was launched by the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF). The program presents a strong business case for the global market and can be easily adapted or supplemented to support regional programs, market demands, regulations and legislative requirements.
TIPCHECK – EEI: Answers from Linde
TIPCHECK is a technical assessment that employs sophisticated methodologies spanning measurements, data analysis and recommendations to identify thermal inefficiency and energy-saving opportunities in industrial processes. However, since no two plants are the same, a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work when it comes to assessing thermal performance. That is why we combine the TIPCHECK methodology with our engineering expertise and proven experience. Our certified TIPCHECK expert team is specialized in insulation and corrosion protection with complementary deep skills in fireproofing. Our comprehensive service starts with the evaluation, calculation and detailed documentation of current energy losses and related CO2 emissions. It includes optimization recommendations and specifications, extending all the way to engineering, construction and on-site support during installation of the recommended insulation systems. Revolutionize Industrial Energy Efficiency – with the Right Insulation
We have already started a revolutionary EEI journey for steam methane reforming plants operated by Linde Gas, with plans to put the TIPCHECK – EEI recommendations into action in 2025.
Looking beyond this initial project, this proven insulation technology can be applied to all industrial plants we serve.
To date, approximately 3,000 TIPCHECKs have identified 4 million MWh in energy savings and over one megaton of CO₂ reduction potential. The payback periods for these TIPCHECK insulation projects were typically two years or even less. This demonstrates the economic viability and quick return on investment that TIPCHECK can offer industrial plants on their path to decarbonization.
All TIPCHECK activities are accompanied and, if necessary, monitored by the EiiF. Data is collected and cataloged centrally at EiiF so that it can be used for statistical purposes. Individual datasets remain anonymous. TIPCHECK reports can be submitted to the EiiF for inspection and are reproducible.
